James Richard Bullard, populary known as Jimmy Bullard, is an English professional footballer born on October 23, 1978, in Newham, East London and attended the Erith School. He plays in the central-midfield position, and is known for his sense of humour in the football circle.
In August 2008 Jimmy Bullard was named in the England national team squad for the 2010 World Cup qualifier matches against Andorra and Croatia scheduled for September.
Jimmy Bullard kicked off his football career with Corinthian FC club in non-league football. Later, in 1998, he switched to Gravesend & Northfleet, for which he made 30 appearances contributing seven goals.
After a brief stint with West Ham United, Jimmy Bullard moved onto Peterborough United in 2001, following which, he made his presence felt in 66 league matches scoring eleven goals. In January 2003, he switched to Wigan Athletic for a fee of £275,000. As a part of the first team, Jimmy Bullard was instrumental in the club getting promoted to the Premier League during the 2004-05 season. He was also a part of the Wigan athletic team that played in the 2006 League Cup Final against Manchester United. In February 2006, Sky's morning football show, Soccer AM, honoured Jimmy Bullard for his spectacular attempt at scoring a goal after covering the entire length of the field, when the floodlights went out during Wigan's League Cup semi-final home leg against Arsenal.
Jimmy Bullard signed for Fulham in April 2006 for a fee of £2,500,000 and made his debut for the team against Manchester United in August that year. He scored his first goal for the club a few days later in its match against Bolton Wanderers. He was appreciated by the Fulham manager Chris Coleman, called him the best £2million ever spent by them after his curling winner from a 28-yard free kick in their 1-0 result over Sheffield United. After recovering from an injury, Jimmy Bullard was back in the starting eleven of the team in January 2008, against West Ham United. His stunning long-range goal in the match against Aston Villa was instrumental in the club’s win in the match, and secured him the man of the match award. As of August 2008, Jimmy Bullard has represented the team in 23 league matches scoring four goals.
